Earthen Defenses |

Our Product: Each section is about 6 inches in length and about 3/4 of an inch in height. The top of each section is composed of logs that are hand-stained to give it that weathered look. The depth varies between three and four inches. Earthen defenses can be made with or without spikes, the choice is yours, and the price is adjusted accordingly. The defenders' side is built from hand-stained wood held in place by vertical posts as seen. This is a good replica of the actual fortifications. Flocking and stones are used with varying degree.
Historical Description:
Earth Defenses came in many varieties. The ones pictured here consist of earth backed up by a wooden wall. Sometimes the forward portion of the obstruction contained small pickets (spikes) without the pits. These are have also been called rifle pits. For more information please click here. |
