Worm or Split Rail Fences

Our Product:

Fences are made of hand-stained wood using either round log or square wood. The patterns follow that of contemporary farm fences of the era. Each section is 12 inches long by 3/4 inches high and really enhances your terrain. All fences are flocked and contain some degree of shrubs, trees, vines or stone. Alternatively, detailing and flocking can be left up to you, so you may do as you see fit. Each crossing section contains a joint supporting vertical post for additional historical accuracy. NOTE: Round wood does not work well with 15mm figures.

Historical Description:

Worm fences have been also called Split Rail fences.
I sell two varieties, the round wood and the square wood type.
Each section is cut and hand-stained to give it a good weathered look.
Common throughout many battle fields of the Civil War, these farm field dividing lines provided soft cover against enemy musket fire. Alternatively, engineers would also use them to create other fortifications.
